Trying not to participate in elitism and condescension.
So what if fandoms are growing? Shouldn’t you be happy that the object of your affections are getting more attention and growing in success?
It’s cool that you knew said series/actor/etc. before other people, but don’t belittle people for having bad tastes and then persecute them when they begin to share your interests. It’s childish bullshit and it helps no one.
Exception when people pretend the know things when they don’t. Then seriously, just educate them and then leave it. No need to smite them for it. People make mistakes.
